No.Sleep – Nihon

NO.SLEEP is the latest project by the multi-talented Ta-ku and his long-term collaborator Repeat Pattern. The concept will see Ta-ku and Repeat Pattern photographing cities around the world, each over a 24 hour period. The 24 hours is then presented in a text-free book that is published by Capsule. First in the series is NO.SLEEP NIHON which was shot in November 2014.

The name of the project, NO.SLEEP, represents that Ta-ku and Repeat Pattern will seek to capture the lifecycle of each city over a 24 hour period. For them, the most interesting parts of that cycle are the end, when everyone is making their way home from bars and clubs, and the beginning, when inhabitants begin to trickle back on to the streets to start it all over again.
